GRO Marriage Certificate: How long to receive?

I know there are delays with COVID and family history is not a priority for certificates and less staff operating at present, but I am wondering how long is to taking to receive or dispatch certificates currently by post?

I ordered a marriage certificate in late August.

I am in Australia.

I would say it will be a while yet.  In normal times I waited 4 weeks for one to NZ.   I don’t know what  postage is like to Australia but it’s very difficult to NZ just now.

I am wanting to compare a signature on it to see if someone is using an alias, so itchy feet for that purpose to receive it.

I am in Melbourne and just received one today that was ordered 5 September.

Thank you for your response. Mine was ordered on 31st August. I know they are only delivering letters every second day now.

You will not get an original copy of a marriage certificate from the GRO, it will either be a 'photocopy' of a transcript sent to them from the church or registrar or a typed or handwritten copy.  The only copy with original signatures is in the marriage register
