Unusual first name

I did a general search for first names El*ch on FindMyPast and there were a few variations of a first name similar to Eletch.  No luck with the surname Burton though

She certainly is     

More concerning is that she is not with her parents in early census

As regards 1851 census, perhaps she was in an institution as a patient, etc? Maybe listed with her initials only? Just a thought...

I looked at those listed with initials the yesterday but could not see anything conclusive.  Maybe a second pair of eyes will have more luck

I do wonder if she was unwell and obviously somewhere else in 1851. Three of her (slightly) older siblings died within a month of each other in 1843. In fact, two of the siblings were buried on the same day (30 Sept 1843). Abode: Commercial Road.

Has anyone ever come across the name Eletch before or have any idea of its origin?

It's a variation of the words "alacha" "lacha" and "elatcha". An Indian lightweight, striped silk cloth (from the 17th century). Alacha was a noted item of silk goods of the East India Company. Pretty name.
