ISAACS from Poland
« on: Wednesday 13 October 21 19:13 BST (UK) »
Hi All. After much help from different people on rootschat I managed to discover that my mother’s grandparents came from Poland. However the problem is I can’t find anything before  the 1901 census. No immigration records, ships lists, nothing. Would be very grateful for any help for:
Isaac Isaacs and Jane Isaacs prior to 1901. Just to mention, they are also known as Isaac and Jane Merzinsky or “Goodman” Isaacs/Merzinsky.
Thanks so much

Where were they living in 1901, and what was Isaac's occupation?
Never mind - I just found the original thread regarding this family.
I'm confused, as the original thread established the location of this couple (and children) in the 1891 census. See page 9 of the original thread" https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=825933.72

From the births of the 3 children born in London, the common MMN on GRO is Beber.

From the ages of the children, the family must have moved to England between 1882 & 1884

Aah Got it Stupid me!!

Right. Suggestions about how I trace their immigration to the UK please if possible. My mother told me her family came from the Poland/Russian border. Have tried to search immigration records but no luck.

In the 1901 census the whole family (parents and children) are using the surname MERZINSKY or perhaps spelling is MERGINSKY.
