Millie - do you have an Ancestry or FindMyPast subscription? Obviously (pay) sites are helpful when constructing an online family tree, which may useful now that you are compiling info on your Isaacs family. Or there is software you can purchase.

In that case you could create a (free) family tree on FS. Creating a tree (to include all your "new" Isaacs ancestors) will help you, particularly as you continue with your research.

In the menu at the top of the FamilySearch home page, hover your mouse pointer over Family Tree, and, in the drop-down menu, click Tree. Your family tree will show on the screen.
Your name, just as you entered it when you signed up for your account, should appear in the center spot. Remember that FamilySearch protects the privacy of living people. Nobody else will be able to see what you enter about yourself or other living family members.

Hi Justin
Discovered where Goodman and the family were living in 1891 census.
7 House Booth Street Buildings, Booth Street, Spitalfields, Whitechapel, London & Middlesex, England

I’ve no idea if this helps but this is where they were.

I have been following this thread hoping to get ideas on how to trace my Cooper (probably originally Kobel) family -- also Jewish Polish immigrants
They too are in the Booth Street buildings in 1891 -- household 40 in House 3

The whole of Booth Street Buildings (146 households in 12 Houses) seems to be occupied by Russian / Polish families
Wainwright - Yorkshire
Whitney - Herefordshire
Watson -  Northamptonshire
Trant - Yorkshire
Helps - all
Needham - Derbyshire
Waterhouse - Derbyshire
Northing - all

Hi Marmalady
Well fancy that. Bet they they knew each other! Just wish I could get to the bottom of all this. I can understand your frustration. If it wasn’t for this group I would still be in the complete dark.

Looked up aliens entering the country and there is absolutely nothing to help me but it might you. I’ve done a free trial on find my past - that’s where I looked up aliens arriving.

Where my family hailed from in Poland I simply don’t know . Trying to trace my grandfather’s siblings but not much luck there either.

Good luck with your research. If I find out anything more about Poland or ship they arrived on I will let you know in the hope it might help you.

All I can say is this group is invaluable in tracing your ancestors.

Brilliant. Wish I had one of my extended family. Knew my maternal grandmother but obviously not fraternal.
