Ellens parents?

I have from the 1841 census, Samuel Ellis age 40, Mary 25 and Ellen 3, Ellens parents are listed as Samuel and Mary but i cant find a marriage. Is the 40 yr old the father or another Sam? Listed as living in Rock. Any info appreciated!

Family relationships are not defined on the 1841 census, therefore Mary may or may not be Samuel's wife or daughter.

1851 has Samuel 53, Mary 34 & Ellen 13, Samuel and Mary listed as Married

However, the 1851 census - HO107/1997 folio 384 page 7 would indicate that Ellen is their daughter.

GRO - December quarter 1850 - Wellington RD - Eliza Ellis - mother's maiden name Millington.

Ok so he is the father! Any sign of a marriage i wonder? Thanks Rosie i presume he was married previously at some point
