Hi
I can see it.  It is convoluted and lengthy.

I am happy to pull bits out and type for you, if you can say what in particular you would like.

Sue - you are a gem          Looking to see if a Mary Hartford is mentioned
I think the James Alston is the man I am looking for who eventually married Mary
(Michael James Alston / James Michael Alston / Jas or Jacob
Mary had a boy John Hartford 1916 - no father listed on birth
Wondered why Lydia and James divorced so looking for any clues if it is my James Alston and was he accused of adultery or something - looking for clues, of course it might not be the same man
Is there an address on the document, any basic clues, don't spend too much time, thanks .... Alison

Here is an outline of the case.
I can look again for your areas of interest, but basically this is it-

Michael James Alston .  Gas employee aged 38 .  Born Brighton. Married Lydia Dec 1907 in a civil ceremony and then again in a church in Williamstown in 1908.

Prior to marriage Lydia was a barmaid in Nth Melb. And after the separation is again a barmaid.

There were no children living of the marriage.

The couple lived at many addresses and Lucy Lydia drank heavily, was dirty and was a poor housekeeper and they were evicted frequently.

Her mother was from Beechworth and stayed with them for a while. Bad drinking.

Another chap came on the scene named Mark Dunkerton and ex policeman.
Michael left in 1918 for good.
She had a baby in 1919 which Michael says is not his.  He stopped paying any allowance at that point.

Michael James ALSTON's address at the time of the case was 457 Latrobe Street.

There is no mention of him involved in any other relationship.
