« on: Monday 18 October 21 14:57 BST (UK) »
Hi all, having first registered to rootschat in August 2008 Have just realised I have hit the giddy heights of 3000 posts and should become a Marquessate this afternoon.

In all that time have found everyone so helpful and many questions answered. Thank you all   :) :) :) :)

Thank you all, I never got a gold star even at school, but would have loved a certificate, all my family have degrees etc, but do have a marriage cert that will be 50 years old next year.

Happy hunting

John

Well, a marriage certificate of that age is really something worth being proud of nowadays! Step forward and take a bow!
( I didn't realise I'd reached the marquessate for some time after I'd got there - perhaps a little "toot-toot" of a fanfare could be arranged?)

"perhaps a little "toot-toot" of a fanfare could be arranged"

Back around 2010, there used to be gang who did exactly that.  I recall watching people madly posting as they sprinted for the 3000 post finish line.

Congratulations johnhood  :) :)  Would Cliff Richard singing that song do you in place of a certificate?

I have my dad's original Birth Certificate for 12th February 1917 and my parents original marriage cerificate for 24th December 1945. Aged 104 years and 75 years respectively. On dad's birth certificate it says his father was serving in the Royal Navy on HMS Centurion and on his marriage certificate it says Dental Technician (Private Army Dental Corps)

These old documents are my treasures.
