Coding and Abbreviation on Register of Habitual Criminals Discharge 1893

Good afternoon,

Recently I've been learning a little more about my 3x Great Grandmother and have found that she was imprisoned for 7 years for "Feloniously using instruments to procure abortion" - On the discharge sheet next to her name is a code in brackets (0 26) - also, under the description for her build is the word "Prop" and although I've been racking my brains cannot fathom what that would stand for...."proper" as in "normal"?  can anyone shed any light.

I think 'prop' could be proportionate - neither particularly plump nor thin, so as you say, normal.

I've no idea about O 26 (I think it's letter O rather than zero). Is there anything similar on any other names?

Hi, Of course!!  All in proportion!  Re the codes, yes there are about 7 more convicts, (out of about 21), who have different codes after their names, (K71) (Q14) men and women!
