George Ebsworth Shephard

Desperate for information on the above. My Grandfather.
Went missing about 1910-1912.not been heard of since.
 U.S.A. census 1930 shows a man same age 62 & birth year 1868 employed as a
 guard at the State reformatory in Woodbridge-Middlesex- New Jersey.U.S.A.
 He & his parents were English, He was natrualised between 1920 &1930.
 I cannot trace when or where he was natrualised. I think he was an immigrant
 about 1920.
 He may have dropped his middle name of " Ebsworth "
 where can I go to find more information on this man, any advice will be very
 welcome.
 My Grandfathers name was "George Ebsworth Shephard" born 6-2-1868,
 in Hoxton-old-town, Shoreditch-London.

Do you know for certain that your grandfather went to the U.S.?
