What evidence or records do you have that he was in Lancashire?
Where in Lancashire do you have him?

The only one I can see is in 1911 where there is a James and Elizabeth Graham in Barrow in Furness.
We are allowed to post much from 1911 census but you can search on Family Search for free.

Have you checked Scottish marriages for him?

Are you descended from one of his children?  If so - please give details of that child so we can establish where it was born.

The entry for Barrow gives 1880 as his birthyear

The 1881 for Dunbarton shows 4 possible entries in the 1876-1878 age range - which one is your James Graham?  More info please

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I forgot to add Barrow in Furness.
Unfortunately only information I have is that he passed away there.
His parents are Thomas Graham and Margaret Crombie. I am a descendent of his Sister.born in Dumbarton
Thanks again

His parents are Thomas Graham and Margaret Crombie.

In which case he was b 1880 as per Scottish 1881 census & 1911 entry

Have you looked for his marriage  on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk given his wife was also from Scotland

GRO maiden name search shows his wife's maiden name was Smith - no marriage in England in the timescale - you will find it on Scotlands People in 1906

If he died in Barrow you can look for his death on www.freebmd.org.uk

Have you checked the 1939 register to establish if he was still alive at that time

He married at St Patrick's RC Church on 9th August 1906 to Elizabeth Smith. However he was already living in Barrow in Furness at that time. His bride's address was Dumbarton.

Witnesses were Thomas Graham and Bridget Smith - who may have been siblings of the groom and his bride.

Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
