Meaning of R.S.D. on Huntingdon birth certificate.
« on: Monday 01 November 21 00:56 GMT (UK) »
This birth certificate (July 2 1889) of an ancestor has the place of birth as Catworth, Hunts. R.S.D. Does anyone know what this stands for?

Thanks,
            Peter

Thanks Bookbox. The birth was illegitimate, so would there be some connection I'm missing between the circumstances of the mother and the Rural Sanitary District?

No. The RSD is just an administrative division of local government and tells you nothing about the circumstances.
