Death of Beatrice Lilian Wilks (MN Rutledge) b. 1881 sought
« on: Wednesday 03 November 21 11:58 GMT (UK) »
I am trying in vain to find the death record of Beatrice Lilian Rutledge, born 17-11-1881 Hackney, who married 1898 in Hackney William Thomas WILKS. This husband died already in 1901. I have a handwritten note from unknown origin that claims that Beatrice Lilian died 1909 in Hackney, but I seem to be unable to find her. Can any of you?

Have you considered the possibility that Beatrice re-married after William's death?

Marriage: Beatrice Lilian Wilks + on the same page Richard Quantrill, 2q 1905, Hackney 1b, 785

Death: Beatrice Lilian Quantrill aged 28, 4th q 1909, Hackney 1b, 303.

(By the way, you might like to put the correct d.o.b in your subject heading!)

The parish record of the marriage at St John's Hackney shows Beatrice was indeed a widow, the daughter of John Rutledge.

Thank you for your kind help. I should have thought about her re-marrying but I did not.
Apologies for the mistake in the heading (now corrected).
