Looking at the Enumerator's route - it seems very near to Park Place.

Park Place, Chorlton cum Hardy still exists according to Google Maps - I am assuming Chorlton cum Hardy is the same place as Chorlton (no doubt I'll be corrected if wrong).

Hence if you look for Park Place on Google Maps - Glass St seemed to be more or less adjacent, back in the day. (That area seems to have been much altered from what it would have been, according to Street View)

Are there any other street names from the route?
I think it would be Chorlton on Medlock perhaps?

Just for interest in trying to place Glass Street. This would be Park Place, I think.

I can’t see Glass Street on maps of Great Jackson Street area. There is a Park Street running parallel to Gt Jackson Street and some unnamed streets. Perhaps Glass Street was only a short street and not included on maps.

Heywood - it was only a short street - and there is also a Short St, Bland St, Garner St and Harris St nearby in 1891.

There does seem to be a Police Station nearby on Park Place.

I hope this works  ::)

On a modern map Short Street is Shortcroft Street - River Street still there.

I should have perhaps shortened the link but I don’t want to jinx it. It has taken a lot of searching to get here   ;)

Heywood that is a fantastic map you sent me, in your map I can see it is off short street re-named shortcroft street now. It is very close the church for the baptism so it looks all good. I really could not read the writing at all thanks to rosie for being able to read the handwriting.
