I'm trying to find a second record to show that Wm Farrand as the father of Susannah Rollin as stated on the 1851 census, but I'm struggling...
What I known:
1851 census, aged 66, appears to say unmarried but may be a widower, born Headon, Notts. relationship to head Susannah Rollin = 'Father' (HO 107 Piece 2135 Folio 371 Page 5 Schedule 20)
1861 census, aged 76, widower, relationship to head William Rollin = 'Father' (I'm assuming this means father in law)
1870 - looks like his death ("Farrands") - aged 85, registered Southwell, Notts, Q1 1870
1870 - National Probate Calendar - no luck here - only mentions executor Wm Bryon
1870 - burial in Southwell 18 Jan 1870. Can't find any photo of a headstone.
1841 - appears to be aged 55 at Blyth, East Retford, but no other family members listed with him...
1784 - 21 Sept - appears to be baptised, son of Sarah Farrand and Jonathan Dean.
Ideally I'd like to find Susannah and William Rollin's marriage to see what her maiden name was, but the only match I've come across is on 1 Nov 1831 at Sturton Cum Fenton, Notts, which gives her maiden name as.... Whitaker.
I've searched newspapers for weddings and death notices, without luck.
So how is William Farrand elated to Susannah ? And who did he marry ? Is his will available online ?
Any idea's please from ancestry detectives out there as to what to look at next.
Thank you.
