I have a Samsung Tab A T580 and to take a screenshot I have to swipe the page.

My friend has just bought a used Tab A T585 and there is another option which is so simple.
There is an icon which opens to show a screenshot button in with other things, just tap it and hey presto it`s done .
 Is this part of this model or something that has been added, downloaded by the previous owner perhaps.

We have looked at the user manual and there doesn`t seem to be any mention of this, only the swipe method.

Look for "Assistant menu" under Settings/Accesibility/Integration and Dexterity.

There's nothing in there about screenshot,,  well not that I can see or understand.

Can you see anything in the list of installed apps that it might relate to? A very quick search for 'screenshot button' in the apps at Google Play brings up dozens of possible results.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

There's nothing, and it's so simple. It doesn't take you to something with loads of trash on it as some free apps do.

Just curious why it's there and not mentioned in the manual.

I've read this thread with interest as I have a Samsung tabA, although a different model number, and I've always pressed the two buttons on the side to do a screenshot, such a faff. Having followed the instructions by sc00p I've now got the button that makes it so much easier  :D
 Many thanks for making things easier sc00p,  and wilcoxon for the initial question. I hope you manage to find a solution yourself.

Yes I have. By comparing settings on both tablets,  its in Settings / Accessibility  / Dexterity
Assistant Menu _ turn on, then Options.
There's a load of icons to choose from. Click and they move from one box to another with a +
Click reset . Now a little circle with squares comes on the screen.  It is always there what ever page you are on, but can be moved around.
Hope you understand.  Ive had mine for 3 years and never knew about it.  🙂
