Batten and Taylor
« on: Thursday 18 November 21 19:27 GMT (UK) »
Leslie James Batten birth registered Apr 1915 Kingston, Surrey. He married Eva Taylor Jun 1933 Brentford, Mdx. I can not find a death registration for Leslie and know nothing re Eva. I could not find them in the 1939 registration. There is a death for an Eva Batten 1984 Surrey NW that gives a dob 12 Oct 1906. A probate record (Administration) for Eva shows she died 17 Jan 1984 Woking.
Ancestry has a marriage cert hint which will hopefully help trace Eva.
Can someone help please?

Have you traced their children?
There are two Batten-Taylor births in Brentford on FreeBMD, 1933 and 1935.
Perhaps he was a servicemen in WW2.

I found Eva on the 1939 in Kingston upon Thames, married, dob matches the one you found, two people with her redacted.  No sign of Leslie.  She was a hospital cleaner.

-Are you sure the 1915 birth record is the correct one
In 1933 he would have been 18 years old possibly a little young for the time.

When he married what was his fathers name and occupation?
ADDED

NEVER MIND found the marriage he was 18 Eva was 26.

Leslie James was born 17 April 1915 bap 5 August 1915 of Arthur and Mary. Address 44 Myrtle Road.

His brother Edward Falcon born 7 ? February 1913 was bap. the same day. Church St James Hampton.

The address is the same as when he married.

His father Arthur died 19 December 1952 still at 44 Myrtle Road (probate index)

The birth could be 7th April, transcription has 17th but the 1 could be the l at the end of April
