Help with part of 1593 will
« on: Friday 19 November 21 04:41 GMT (UK) »
I have had a go at transcribing a will of 1593 but this section has flummoxed me.  It starts Item I bequeath to William my son 20 s [shillings] to be delivered unto him when he shall ....................  and also ..... my executrix shall maintain and keep him at school for two ..................

Could anyone fill in the rest of it please?
Many thanks

                    ...my Sonne
xxli to be deliv(er)ed unto him when he shall Accomplish thage of xviij [year(es)?]...

  ...also that my executrix................................at Schoole [for?]
the space of vj whole yeares next ensuinge after ^my^ decease findinge
him meate drinke Clothinge Bookes and all other thinges fitt and [convenient?]
for a Scholle(our) of his yeares...

li for pounds rather than s for shillings, I think.

thage = the age

xviij = 18
vj = 6

Thank you once again horselydown86.  And also for correcting my assumption that William inherited 20 shillings.  20 pounds must have been quite a lot of money for those times.
Much appreciated.
