Burial records in Wiltshire
« on: Monday 22 November 21 09:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have found, what I think may be, the burial record for one of my ancestors, Mary Merrifield. She was buried on 22/04/1781 at St Edmund, Salisbury in Wiltshire. Next to her name is recorded: W.o S.T.P. Does anyone know what this means? I thought maybe the W.o may mean widowed??

Kind regards,

Coreen

Looking at the register, I agree that W.o = widow.

STP is probably St Thomas’ Parish. There are also examples of SMP, probably St Martin’s Parish. Both parishes are adjacent to St Edmund’s.
