French To English Handwriting

Hi all,

Could anyone help me with this please? I gather it's some 17th century French handwriting based on the date but I have had no look deciphering and translating.

Can you post a higher resolution version of this, please? It is French, but hard to read at this resolution.

Something about a "voiturier par terre" which seems to be a carter or carman - someone who transports goods or passengers by cart or coach. (Although Google translates it as a valet in a parking lot !)

Thank you for the response. Yes I'm very aware of the bad quality. I don't have the item in my possession currently for a full resolution scan but will post it here once I have and scanned it.

"enjoint" I read 3rd letter as j, 4th o, 5th i. Not sure about letters at beginning and end.

Was French spelling of the time as variable as English?

Having just found some French records from the 1600s and 1700s, I'd say 'yes'! French spelling was just as likely to have variations of spelling as English records, especially where names were concerned.
I guess it would have been for the same reasons. Each scribe would write as they thought the word was spelt, and each had their own way of writing.
