Can someone help me decipher John Cheetham's occupation please?

This comes from a marriage certificate and I just can't seem to figure out what it says. I have attached the image.

Wow I have never heard of such a thing till now! It makes total sense as his sons were pattern card makers in Manchester so he was clearly in the textile trade also. Thank you so much! You learn something new every day! :-)

It was a very hard wearing material, originally woven with a double warp thread of linen and a wool weft thread.
Later  cotton and wool.
Used for breeches and jackets etc.
Also monks and nuns robes.
