Flax weaver  :-\

Thanks all!  Any chance a flax weaver was a hatter.....?  That's what my Robert Blair is consistently shown as elsewhere.

The Robert Blair you have located in 1841 is  in Inveresk in the 1851 census with his occupation still showing as weaver . He is recorded as age 52 and born in Duns, Berwickshire. This is also the place of birth for wife Jane and sons George, William and Henry.

There are OPRs for the 2 (presumed) daughters Jane and Alison showing  in the 1841 census, both born in Inveresk. Robert's occupation is again shown as weaver on those ( mother recorded as Jane Dickson).

William
Dent (Haltwhistle and Sacriston), Bell and Jetson (Haltwhistle), Postle, Ward, Longstaff, Purvis, Manners, Parnaby and Hardy (Co. Durham), Kennedy and McRobert (Banffshire), Reid(Bathgate), Watson (Wemyss), Graham (Libberton), Sandilands (Carmichael), Munro (Dingwall)

He's my one if he's the father of Margaret who was married to George Groundwater in 1851 census (7 Henry Street, St Cuthert's, Midlothian). Margaret died 1894 Apr 26 in Glasgow.

Thanks all for your help and suggestions
