Left Money in a Will and We Don't know Them

Good evening all, my friend's husband whose surname is Pritchard  received £59 from a Will of Rose Anne Wilkes she died 21/10/2012 at Ascot Lodge, 38 Chambres Road, Southport, Lancashire. I think this is a nursing home or care home. He hasn't got a clue as to who she is. My friend Mr Pritchard would like to know if you could help him.

Could he contact the solicitors or whomever notified him of the bequest for more information?

Maybe his parents or other relations would know who the lady was - was it just him who received something in his family?

If it’s any help, there is only a Grant listed NOT Grant with Will.  She was born about 1933.

In 2002-2008 she was living at 50,Chestnut Street Southport and had been there 24 Years, also in residence was a Geoffrey WILKES.

Geoffrey’s mother’s maiden was WILKINSON. I haven’t found a marriage for Geoffrey to Rose Ann.

The grant wasn't sorted until 10 March 2015.
So it sounds like they took some time to find all the relevant beneficiaries.

Geoffrey’s mother’s maiden was WILKINSON. I haven’t found a marriage for Geoffrey to Rose Ann.

If Rose Ann died intestate, surely any estate would be divided between her relatives, not those of her husband.
As I understand it entitled heirs could be descended from the grandparents of the deceased - no further back. (I think Scottish law goes one generation further back)
