Henderson research
« on: Sunday 28 November 21 19:33 GMT (UK) »
I am researching my Henderson ancestors.

I have got back to Gargunnock in Stirlingshire to the year 1808. My 4 x great grandparents Duncan Henderson and Shusan Sinclair has their son Finlay baptised. I have not found a record of their marriage nor either set of parents. Interested in any help or hints.

Many thanks

Andrew Henderson

I note two baptisms on SP but no marriage.

HENDERSON FINLAY   DUNCAN   HENDERSON/SHUSAN SINCLAIR    10/11/1808   Gargunnock
HENDERSON   AGNES   DUNCAN HENDERSON/SUSAN SINCLAIR    08/03/1812   Kippen

No clear records for Duncan or Susan?

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Alan

Many thanks for this. Duncan's son Finlay and his wife Jane definitely made their way West to the Vale of Leven. I have also found a husband for Agnes Henderson. Her name was also very popular in our family for girls. Duncan and Finlay (spelt Findlay) were repeated in the 19th and 20th centuries as well.

The birth information, taking them back to the 1760s is interesting as it makes them relatively old parents unless they had an older family or indeed this was a second marriage for them both. Probably things that I will never know!

Kind regards
Andrew
