Unknown sailor- improvement to photo please

This photo was amongst a batch of unknown family photos, I'm hoping to identify him and am wondering if being able to see the uniform better might help. I realise this isn't a great photo to start with so any help in tidying up would be appreciated.

I had a go but unfortunately there's no real "depth" in the image, so not much hidden detail to bring out and he remains little more than a silhouette.

Gadget, I'm not sure as I got a digital copy from a cousin but I can't think of any reason why they would have a photocopy rather than the original. Must agree it does look like a photocopy.
