This is the birth registration index entry for the child born to George in Melbourne

BINT 10285/1872, MELB
Letitia,
Parents: Margaret (maiden name RYAN), George

Marriage for Letitia:
BINT, Letitia  HAYWARD, Ernest Chas Newton
7563/1890 Victoria

Some Trove mentions -
Three identical death notices show that Letitia was obviously quite open about her parentage:
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/9519949  From Melbourne Argus, 6 May 1899
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/138614590  From the Australasian
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/202625392 The Age - Melbourne paper
From Melbourne Argus, 6 May 1899,
BINT.—On the 19th March, at Northampton, England, Geo. Bint, age 75 years, late of Royal
Mint, Melbourne, beloved father of Mrs. E. C. Hayward, Essendon.

Letitia's mother, Margaret, was shown as 'widow' of George
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/9672667 - The Argus, 2 October 1906, also in The Australasian on the same date
BINT.—On the 27th September, at Ballarat, Margaret, widow of the late George Bint, and beloved
mother of Mrs. E. C. N. Hayward, Toorak.

I note that the probate for George BINT, whose death is listed as being in Northampton UK in 1899, was granted to "Margaret BINT, widow" - so is this the Australian 'wife'?

Sorry none of this helps answer your query.

This would be the death of Margaret nee RYAN.

There was not a marriage between George and Margaret that I can see.  Perhaps George was not aware of the death in 1896 of his English wife.  Possible also there was a double  impediment to a marriage.  If Margaret was married .

Aged   59

I can't see a marriage either, Sue.  Too many 'Margaret RYAN"s to find if she had been married before.
