Help reading birthplace on 1851 census - COMPLETED
« on: Wednesday 15 December 21 09:34 GMT (UK) »
Hello  :)
I've managed to get past a brick wall by finding the marriage between Elinor Morgan (b.1785) and John West (b.1792) in Hay, Breconshire on 15 June 1819.
I can find them in the 1841 census in Cardiff, and then 1851 in Claines, Worcestershire (with their daughter Martha born 1821 in Caerleon).
Elinor/Elenor gives her birthplace as maybe "........ upon the ......" Hereford, but I'm afraid I'm stuck, please can you help. I have attached a snip.

Staunton upon the Wye  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

Hi BumbleB
Thanks so much, I can see it now you say it  :) :)
That would make sense, as later family links are in Clocock and Llanigon areas. So not too far geographically.

Thanks so much Colin for looking for me :)
I have found the actual image and he was a John rather than a Walter.
I'm going to report it as an error in freereg

Thanks for your reply. I think you should, that's quite an error.
