Many thanks! It was lovely to see how busy this thread had been since I last looked!

In answer to questions posed yesterday about Marsden -- he gave his occupation as 'nil' on emigrating. However, he had previously been a sergeant mechanic in the RAF, so quite a practical person.

Thank you for the pen picture of life on a station. Quite challenging I am sure for someone newly out from England. I also now have a good idea of where Cargoon is.

I imagine that the station must have advertised for a book keeper? He landed in Sydney, so a further enormous journey once he'd arrived ... I am trying to get my head around the distances.
