Martignoni Switzerland
« on: Sunday 19 December 21 11:07 GMT (UK) »
Hi lovely people - I am tracing my great grandmothers family she has these photos in her box she was born approx 1887 in Switzerland not far from the border of Italy and later lived in Italy I can’t work out if the lady in the long skirt blouse and white neck thing is her or maybe it’s her mother or grandmother the second picture is dark but you can work out the same lady and man in it and also some hats which might give a clue on era - I know she has her hands on the gentlemen would this mean she is the head of this family or just a daughter - any help
Would be so appreciated

HI and welcome to Rootschat, I think the lady in the first photo is the same lady who has her hand the shoulder on the gent is the same lady, so Husband and wife as in the first photo. It would be good if we could see the back of the first photo.

Hi thank you for your reply and looking that’s what I was thinking which would mean that is her mother or grandmother Altho her mother doesn’t look like her but her grandma is the spit- I wonder what era this could be then - her mother was born 1866 and grandmother 1833 and she looks quite old - the grandfather died in 1883 so if this is him could this photo be around 1880 ? Does that go with the dress and moustaches - somone did say to me the dress and moustache looks like early 1900’s or around 1920

First photo could be about 1910/12 and the second one early 1920s. Could we see the back of the first photo please.
