Electoral registers on Ancestry
« on: Wednesday 22 December 21 16:19 GMT (UK) »
How complete are the registers on Ancestry? I have a person who died 93 Sydney Street, London in 1935 (According to death certificate) but can only find address up to 1925 on Ancestry. I need to find who lived  there as certificate says deceased was of no fixed address.

Thanks John

Who was the informant?  Maybe he or she lived there and you could investigate that.
Perhaps your person was lodging there :-\

Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

London Electoral Registers on Ancestry seem to go up to 1965 but you have to search by name,

You could try searching by address on 1939 register on Find My Past if you have access.

If it's Sydney Street in Chelsea, I reckon 93 would be St Luke's Hospital.

Actually Shaun -- I have checked the 1939 and number 93 is missing - it jumps from 92 to 94 -- and that came up as Chelsea actually.

It is possible to search by street using the "keyword" field

Here is Sydney Street, Chelsea, in 1935: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/1795/images/40020_190597-00023
St Luke's Hospital is listed between 92 and 94.

Appears Mr. Murray died in hospital as I doubt he would have been at home with what was his final illness. Sadly the certificate does not prove he is the person I am interested in.
Thanks for your help

John
