Open to suggestions for Family Tree sub-branch where I have hit a wall
« on: Saturday 25 December 21 23:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I've hit a bit of wall searching a sub branch of my tree and was hoping for suggestions. I'm trying to look for a descendant of one of my great-great-grandfather's children. I've managed to go all the way to the present day on all of the other siblings, but have hit a wall on this one. I think the person is still alive - I've done freeBMD.org.uk, 192.com electoral role, various social media searches (I suspect he would be too old for those). His last known address was in Broadstairs in 1993, where he seemed to be living with his mother when she passed away (I got this from his mother's probate record). He seems to have sold that house a couple of years afterwards though. Any suggestions most welcome.

If he doesn't seem to have died, then he possibly hasn't and Rootschat does not permit the discussion of living people in accordance with the person's  right to privacy.

You should delete the person's name.

Just a few thoughts

If the home has been sold maybe the person has moved into a residential home.

If the person is still living in Kent then Findmypast have electoral rolls from 2000 to quite recently.

You could also check to see if the person has died on https://funeral-notices.co.uk

If the person has died check for a will  https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

Too old? my father & uncles are in their 90s and use Facebook to keep in touch with cousins, children, grandchildren & friends so don't rule out social media.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
