Hi Marcus and welcome to Rootschat!

It would help us to know what information you currently have about George other than his birthplace - presumably if he is your ancestor you know at least the name of one child.

Might this be him in the 1861 census?

No problem here at all with this guy - easily found on all census' 1841 to 1911, died 1914, married Eliza Preece Dec.qtr.1868 Tenbury.

All that's missing from available online records is his baptism ca.1835 (plus that of an older sister bc.1829) - parents were George Mapp and Margaret Jones married 16/1/1828 Hanley William.

I found this baptism, although it's 1840.
Maybe the baptism was around 3 years after the birth?

First name(s) George
Last name Mapp

Baptism date 17 Feb 1840
Place Bayton
County Worcestershire

Father's first name(s) Thomas
Father's last name Mapp
Mother's first name(s) Eleanor

That would tie in with this birth registration
Sep qtr 1839
Mapp,  Thomas    Mothers maiden surname Dukes
Cleobury Mortimer RD    18   34
That RD covers Bayton
