Matthew Power immigrated to Australia 1854
« on: Monday 27 December 21 23:48 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to confirm when and how Mathew Power immigrated to Australia. Family story is that he  was sponsored for the passage to Australia by his brother John. It is thought that Matthew was 43 and came to Victoria with 4 children in 1854 on the "Eagle". His wife had previously died. I cant find a passenger list or matching ship. Was it the "Black Eagle" or another Eagle.

Passenger list here, EAGLE 1854

Looks like 5 children with him, unless the 17 year old is a very young wife.
