1871 census Surname query
« on: Wednesday 29 December 21 15:37 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Grateful if anyone could decipher the surname of Sarah nee Packman in the 1871 census in Eysnford. She was born in 1815 in Eynsford.

Ancestry have transcribed her surname as "Rann" but I can't find any marriages for Sarah Packman to a Rann.

Her mother is Sarah Packman and brother-in-law is John Taylor so I think I have the correct family but have been unable to find any records for Sarah

Many thanks for any help or advice
Best wishes

That's a tricky one, could it be Barnes or Burns? Not sure, Had another look and think it begins with a "D" as in Dressmaker. Dunn?

I think it is Dunn as well, took a look at FindMyPast and it agrees.

Was her father Thomas.  It looks as though the marriage entry could be PEckman

Thank you so much everyone and especially Rosie99.
It must be Dunn as her father was Thomas Packman who was a Gamekeeper.
That's fantastic. Thank you so much. I would never have found that.
Best wishes
