Samuel Jarvis (Jervis) circa 1800
« on: Monday 03 January 22 08:22 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find a baptism for him. The 1841, 1851 and 1861 indicate / imply he was from the civil parish of Bilton Warwickshire.
The 3rd Marriage Bann 30 May 1824 was also in Bilton Warwickshire.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Nothing for Bilton showing in the Ancestry records.  But there is a baptism in Preston Bagot - 26 September 1807 - Samuel, son of John and Ann Jervis.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The 1851 and 1861 census gives his place of birth merely as Rugby, though he is living in Bilton. (Noting his children have Bilton as place of birth.) I can't find a baptism, however there is this item which may be of interest:

"RUGBY ...PETTY SESSIONS, Tuesday ... Sarah Jarvis, Bilton, applied for a warrant against her husband for threatening to murder her. The warrant was granted."

Also an account of the coroner's investigation into his death in 1865. Happy to copy if you haven't seen it.  :)
