Wonder if it’s worth leaving it in, as others may have the same problem with hyphenated surnames.

No, it wasn’t the hyphenated surname. (I don’t think)
It was the date.  I entered the decree date. 1st July.
But the Probate date was the 26th August. (I presume 1935)

It’s their indexing system that’s confusing, I only found it by asking for jones year of death 1935,
looking for Morgan- jones death year 1933got me nowhere.

Oh so you think I should reorder with just Jones?  And the august date?

Presumably their computer scans your order without a human hand in sight, so yes, I entered Jones, y o d 1935, nothing else and it’s on page 2, it certainly isn’t folio number as there isn’t one.

It’s indexed with the joneses so it must be findable try 1933 or 1935, I think, but cannot prove, that year of death actually means year of grant.

Admin with will sometimes means you don’t get the will because it is not “attached” and you have to hassle them to get it.

So I tried again with these details

Surname: JONES
First Name: ADA HESTER
Date of Death: 13/08/1933
Date of probate: 26/08/1935

Failed.

So that’s twice I’ve paid
I am giving up.

FIW I wasted several £1.50s getting dates and names not quite right, also folio numbers, and still not working - until I realised I didn't have exactly the right registry office from the selection on the drop down menu. And now always I do a screen shot just before clicking 'add to basket'. Like that, if it still comes back rejected, I can check what I got wrong.

That’s a good idea. At least then you also have evidence if you do end up having an argument with them.
