The 1891 census has “Elder” Root Farm and the occupant is Arthur Alker who is still there in 1901 and 1911.

Which census is this from?

There were all sorts of check marks, count marks, codes etc on each census.

For example a list of occupation codes on the 1911 census:
https://www.findmypast.co.uk/articles/1911-census-occupation-codes

Added: I see you have “21” in your title of the snip, so the 1921 census?  ;) There must be a list of annotations somewhere.

Occupation codes 1921:
https://www.findmypast.com.au/articles/world-records/1921-census---occupation-codes

Not sure if this tallies too well with the green 010 in your snip being “agricultural occupations” but this chap is a general labourer in a Foundry.  :-\ It would be more suitable for the entry above.

A quick look hasn’t found anything that explains the meaning of the red numbers though.
