Looking for Grandmother’s sister (grand-aunt)
« on: Saturday 08 January 22 22:09 GMT (UK) »
Hey all! :)

My name is Rebecca but you can call me Ree for short, I’m 24 (be 25 on the 17th) and for the past year or so, I’ve been building my mother’s family tree for her, my mother Removed Davis and her family were all born and raised in Middlesex/Wembley/Brent area. So far, we’ve had success in finding a good portion of her family on her grandfather’s side (and to our shock, found out that she has Scottish heritage, which is crazy because on my father’s side, we also have Scottish heritage as my father and his family were born and raised in Scotland!)
My grandmother, Irene Ivy Lowson (who sadly passed away in ‘91, god rest her soul), had a sister but the thing is I am having a rather hard time looking for her sister. I’ve asked my mother questions about her aunt and she said her and her brother would call her “aunt franny”, she also believes her name was francis. I thought to myself “maybe her name was Francesca for short?” but my mother doesn’t think so. There was a possible marriage record indicating that a Frances R Lowson married a Kenneth R Cook, my mother has told me that she has a niece called Removed but she can’t remember her surname, she thinks it’s either  Clack or Lowson. My mother thinks she may have resided with Removed in Hertfordshire. They haven’t seen each other since the 70’s I believe. I also found out due to personal reasons, my grand-aunt always wanted a daughter called “Rebecca” which is probably the reason why I was called that very same name  :) If someone could be a saint and help me find any information regarding my grand-aunt, I would be so grateful! ;D

Welcome to Rootschat

Firstly - Rootschat has a very strict “no living persons” policy so the names of any persons who could still be alive are not allowed so we can only give you general info.

If you go to www.freebmd.org.uk & turn up Irene Ivy’s birth in 1933 it gives her mothers maiden name

Using that info shows 2 other births & the lady you are referring to was b 1942 so could well be alive

The possible marriage you mention was 1960

Use the above website to find children born to the 1960 marriage - name cannot be given here for privacy reasons
