Arthur and Annie WEBSTER
« on: Sunday 09 January 22 20:05 GMT (UK) »
Arthur WEBSTER married Annie WATSON in NSW on 7 Dec 1910.

Arthur (not William) was born 1885 in Redfern NSW, son of Andrew WEBSTER and Jessie DOUGLAS.

Annie was born 7 Dec 1889 in Wellington, NZ, daughter of William WATSON and Elizabeth BOYCE.

Can anyone find what happened to them after that.

Can't find any children born NSW or deaths in NSW.

Believe Annie may have had nickname of Joe.

Many thanks
Ian C

Hi,

From that m.c.,  what is recorded

:) as the usual addresses for the bride and the groom,
 :) what are their occupations
 :) who  are their witnesses
:) Does the info on that document re their ages, places of birth, parents names match up with your known info.

Official transcriptions are less expensive options for NSW BDMs.

On 2 December 1910 Levi Andrew WEBSTER born 2 August 1882 commenced work at Eveleigh Railway works in Redfern - inner Sydney suburb centred around the railway works.  He retired from there in  1952.   I am fairly sure he was an older brother for Arthur.   ;D

Here is a link to Levi Andrew's employment card. https://search.records.nsw.gov.au/permalink/f/1ebnd1l/ADLIB_RNSW114852253

NSW Electoral Roll 1902 SOUTH SYDNEY polling Redfern

Andrew WEBSTER 8 Wells St, miller
Horace WEBSTER 8 Wells St, labourer
Jessie WEBSTER 8 Wells St, domestic duties.

1902 was first NSW roll that included females.

To be eligible to enrol you needed to be a) British Subject and b) aged 21 and over and c) have resided at that address for six months immediately prior to enrolling.

Horace was the name that was struck through on the employment card in my recent post.

If Arthur WEBSTER was (as it seems likely) in this family, then it is possible he also joined the railways workforce.  If so, then if a fettler or stoker or engine driver or conductor etc then they could have been sent to anywhere in NSW and settled at any of the ''terminating" townships.

Thank you for updating your opening post.  I have just noticed your edit, you must have edited that after I had posted my reply at #2 earlier this morning.

Here is an obit for a Mrs Joe WEBSTER,  clearly not the wife of Arthur.    https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/236536199 Corowra Free Press 23 Nov 1943.

This appears to be a death notice for Jessie - now called 'Cherry' according to this. No mention of Arthur or Levi.
