Looking for Alexander Brown in Victoria?

Alexander Brown was born around 1868 in Victoria, Australia. There is no birth certificate as it was most likely never registered.

His father was Edward Brown and mother Annie McNab nee Maule. Edward and Annie had 3 children together but there is no known marriage certificate.

John James Brown 1858-1946. The only child of these 3 with a birth certificate. Born in Ballarat
Isabella Brown 1860-1946. Born in Talbot
Alexander Brown 1868-after 1908. Born probably in the Ballarat/Talbot area.

Edward leaves Annie and marries to Mary Ann Carrick and has more kids. If Edward is Alexanders father then he fathers a child with Annie while married to Mary Ann.

Annie remarries to Henry Goedheur/Goedheer in 1871 but doesn't have any more children. Annie dies in 1908 and Alexander is mentioned on his mother death certificate as being alive in 1908.

Two of us have tried to find Alexander but not found any further records of him. No marriage or death. Im hoping he had a family (more cousins)

Any help would be appreciated.

There is one on VIC BMD Web Site.  Alex Brown died age 45.  Which would make him born 1871.  Mother Mary Ann Brown. Death Golden Square (near Ballarat). Reg No. 10374 / 1916.

I found his funeral notice on Trove. It says friends (no family). He was living in 7 Chum Street. Buried Bendigo Cemetery.

That may explain why no one knew his family. Another loner I guess.

If that's him I was hoping he had a family and children to test my theory.
