William Boyne c 1929, Liverpool
« on: Thursday 13 January 22 11:53 GMT (UK) »
Not sure about the date of the photo but apparently it appeared in a newspaper report in 1929 when he was 21 which is the source of the (not great) image attached.

If anyone has time to see if it can be improved a bit, I'd really appreciate it as this is the only source we have to know what he looked like.
I've only recently received this and have been doing the little happy dance ever since. Putting a face to a name I have researched for years from scratch with no personal knowledge of the family is always wonderful.

Thanks
Boo

Many thanks Cliff, I'm very grateful for your help :-)

I do realise that newspaper photos are 'very' difficult but you've done a great job.

Do you have the original paper? If so scanning it in and setting the document type to "Newspaper" may eliminate some of the noise in the scan which should improve the quality of the restorations

Thanks

Thank you John-76. Another great improvement, will be passing all these restores along to other family members, who will also be grateful.
