First, Second and Third Class Burials Re: Weaste Cemetery Salford
« on: Thursday 13 January 22 15:11 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can assist me in this matter.

I came across an ancestor of mine buried in Weaste Cemetery, Salford during 1880 in what is described in the Cemetery Register book as a 1st Class Burial. He was the last person to be buried in the grave which contains four other bodies, all of whom are non relatives.

Other burials described on the same Register book page are Common , 2nd Class and 3rd Class. I understand what a Common grave is but am confused about the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class burials.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
