FamilySearch .paf files

Please does anyone know of a reliable means of opening old .paf files no longer supported by FamilySearch in a manner which would allow them to be resaved in a different format?

RootsMagic can open PAF files.
RootsMagic Essentials is a free version. ;)

You can then export the data in GEDCOM format.

Thanks KG, I was aware that Roots Magic can open the files but before I download it, does it allow me to save them in a different format? The intention is to move them from a general pc to one dedicated to genealogical research and the .pafs date back about 15 years.

Why not just try it out, if you do not like it then you can have a look at other options.  I have recently downloaded my paf files to my windows laptop and Mac Desktop though the latter keeps throwing up errors.  As the ability to use it on a Mac is recent I hope they will soon sort out the teething problems.

I did as suggested. Didn't open the files.

You have to Import the files; not Open them ;)

Thank you both. I now have access to the information I needed to recall.
