Holocaust Help and Tips Needed

Hi All,

I've recently been told by a relative that her maternal grandparents were Russian and she believes were involved in the Holocaust.

She doesn't know many details but has memories of being told of valuables being buried in the garden before the family fled the house and eventually ended up in England.

In a strange twist (I always seem to get them in my family research), within weeks of hearing this story I made contact with a distant relative for the first time on facebook and was told of a similar story on another branch of the family.

This is a completely new area of research to me and I have absolutely no idea where to start, can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Hello Michael,

I have been very successful researching my German family members who were murdered during the Holocaust and I am very familiar with the various record sources.

What are you hoping to discover? If the couple in question weren't shipped off to a camp, there may be very few records of them. You will, however, be able to find about the fate they managed to evade.

If you can provide names and places, we can make a start.
