Had my annual diabetes eye-check on Friday.
All OK; no problems or issues.

Everything settled down after my op last week.

This week I have physio visiting on Wednesday.
Still a bit dodgy on my feet (balance a bit of a problem).
On the plus side I haven't used my walker (rollator) for a week :D

Nothing to report personally, just marking the thread so I don't have to keep looking for it.  :)

Many people returning to the workplace today after months of working from home. After talking to friends about it there seems to be mixed feelings and some are intending to do hybrid working, ie some days at home and others in the office. A benfit of home working in the winter is not having to scrape ice and snow from the car before setting off but I know some people miss the social aspect of interacting with colleagues. A mix of the two sounds like a good solution.

Yes,it must have been/ is  lonely for people .
My second son is trying a compromise, but the days in work mean a journey on the M25.! :-\ :-\ :-\
Still better than every work day on the M25.
Well test kits have come ,daughter organised the delivery,l
Negative result again this afternoon.
Felt a bit iffy again this morning , passed off now.

Had a short brisk walk early ,before anyone around .
Woke me up.!

Dull day ,dampish.Quite cool.
Made a large sized chart for poorly sighted lady whose son  has died.
She can’t see the one we get from the Council ,it is a dustbin calendar ,which colours on which dates etc.Very small print and emblems etc.
She can have assisted collection and return ,she did not know that ,I hope her daughters organise it for her.
I won’t take it round until I feel alright ,and get a negative test also.

Glad your eye check was OK and things post op are alright,K.G.

Look after yourselves everyone .Cheerio,Viktoria.

NZ back to red alert from Monday 24th, was a busy day for birthday boy with numerous calls, messages etc, a little outing for a lovely brunch together and venue was very quiet, as were the 2 other retail outlets we briefly called in on. A few disappointments with cancellation of events planned for with number restrictions, also parcel from daughter in north not delivered as tracking had said at 9.15am and we were talking to her and granddaughters on video call right in view of the open front door at that time. Chasing that up, daughter had photographed items granddaughter had included and showed him those and has receipt for voucher hopefully covered by insurance if it doesn't turn up. His brother left early morning for his home in Northland, has a shoulder operation booked later in week, enjoyed his few days break in the big smoke but keen to get out.

Petricor day as well Monday, much needed rain arrived for the parched ground, surprising though how quickly the tinge of green appears, more forecast today but bypassing us so far. City a bit quieter again with some back to working from home, schools due to reopen over the next 2 weeks, has been talk of possible delayed opening with uncertainty of arrangements being the' norm'....

Morning all
Nothing much to report here either, though it’s sobering listening to our friends in the deep south
to us being back on red alert. We just keep hoping things will subside to a tolerable level for a long time for everyone. Think we’ve all had enough.

I am puzzled, no need to isolate seemingly ,now!

I shall continue to be cautious.
Negative test yesterday ,will do another tomorrow.

A dull day not too cold.

Must order some goods.
A new kettle,a new kitchen waste bin ,the touch open lid had broken on my present one It is a two compartment one.
One for not re cycling  stuff ,one for paper ,
I try to put tins etc out straight away in the big wheelie bin so the second part is for card and paper.
The waste food caddy is just that.

I really don’t like the kitchen diner arrangement, can’t  get used to it at all.
Thought I would ,but no.
And as for having waste bins  in your “ dining room”  >:(
I put them outside on Christmas Day.

Well must get on, not eaten yet ,took a tablet late this morning and have to leave a good time after that before I can eat.
I can have “ brunch” then get cracking?
Hope everyone is alright.
Cheerio.Viktoria.

Just popping in to mention that I managed to get to the Archives today.  It was actually 3rd time lucky in trying to obtain a slot.  The first time I have been back in about two years.

I only had a morning slot and the time went fast, too fast!  Oh! But it felt so good to be able to handle old volumes again.  :)
Viewing is in a different, smaller room. It was very quiet .. only two of us in plus a member of staff.
Must mark today as today I have finally risen to the rank of marquessate :D .. so a good day all round. ;)
Will have to shoot off now to get ready.  I have to catch the bus to nightshift soon.
Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Ooh! I don't like the sound of that wind getting up outside ..
