Morris in Llansilin.
« on: Wednesday 26 January 22 16:48 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help. I have no knowledge of this area at all.

OK, so in 1875 at Zion Chapel Oswestry,   Ellen Morris 22 of The Llawnt  Oswestry  father Thomas Morrris farm lab deceased married Edward Morris 24 Lledrode, Llansilin, Father Thomas Morris farm lab. Witnesses John Morris / Catherine Davies.

Having a Morris marrying a Morris was bad enough but both fathers with the same name is worse.
I think I have Edward with his family before the marriage and Edward and Ellen up to 1901 by which they have moved to Froncysllte.
 I have nothing on them after that.

I`m not certain if this is Ellen in 1851 and 1861. I can`t find a birth registration.
My problem is I can`t find any of the children from 1851 except James and can`t find a death for Thomas that fits between 1855 and 1861.
 I cannot find Ellen b 1855 in 1871 and  Mary Morris  seems to have gone missing as well.
 It would have been good of Ellen to marry in   June  1871 but that would have been too easy .

1851  Fach.  Lledrode. All children b Llansilin.
Thomas Morris    47 b Denbigh Llangollen ?
Mary Morris    42 b Llanfechan
Anne Morris    12

Moses Moris    6
Jane Moris    4
David Moris    2
Class: HO107; Piece: 1993; Folio: 230; Page: 8;

1861  Fach , Lledrode Llansilin.

James Morris  son 17 b Llansilin
Ellin Morris  dau 6 b Llansilin
Class: RG 9; Piece: 1876; Folio: 29; Page: 8;

I`m not find the family in 1871  but ....
1871 Fach , Lledrode are this family, Mary was a Morris.

I think it's the same family in 1841 in Fach, but possibly a Catherine Morris 65 born in County with them .
All these close borders are confusing.
Thanks.

Busy at the moment so can't check but just to say that Llangollen parish stretched right down to Llansilin parish.  THere were lots of adjacent praishes in that area - Denbighshire, Shropshire and Montgomeryshire ones.  Many of mine were scattered around them all - they led me a merry dance.
