Did your grandfather, or any of his siblings, marry in Scotland?.  That marriage certificate would record parents' names.

Why do you think mother's name might be CARROLL or BROWN?

When you offer possibilities, you need to say why you are considering these family names.

"Itís brown re checked death certificate"  Whose death certificate?

What BDM certificates do you have for your family members?

It would help if you gave us your grandfathers name - particularly his surname.  You have only given christian names for his brothers John H & Robert James so impossible to find info without a surname

Your info is rather "disjointed" & difficult to piece together

You have his full birthdate so have you found him on the 1901 Irish census which will give his parents names?  Have you looked for his birth cert?

Still no name given for your grandfather - presume he was Samuel George Boyd as that is the only Boyd death in Forth in 1960??

So you already have his parents marriage & know his mother was Mary Brown.

You say your grandfather married in Birmingham - what year & who did he marry?  The only Samuel G Boyd marriage was 1917 in Kent

No info given re age of David Cowan Boyd when he died in 1939 - have you looked for a birth cert to find his parents names?  A tree on Ancestry shows him b 1920 & the son of John H Boyd & a Ms West

Thatís my tree I put that info for now

Still no name given for your grandfather - presume he was Samuel George Boyd as that is the only Boyd death in Forth in 1960?? - this is my grandfather

So you already have his parents marriage & know his mother was Mary Brown - I have checked this and itís correct

You say your grandfather married in Birmingham - what year & who did he marry?  The only Samuel G Boyd marriage was 1917 in Kent - 1940 to Nellie Carmichael have the marriage certificate this is 100% correct

No info given re age of David Cowan Boyd when he died in 1939 - have you looked for a birth cert to find his parents names?  A tree on Ancestry shows him b 1920 & the son of John H Boyd & a Ms West  - unable to find the birth certificate

Miss west is a guess due to a James west dying at the address and on his death certificate it mentions this was his address
