How you stop the "Like what you see?" in Windows 10 before Login
« on: Monday 07 February 22 16:04 GMT (UK) »
When I put my computer on in the morning, before I get to the sign in bit, I get a series of photos appear.  You are informed as to what they are etc and you can indicate whether you like the photo or not.  99.9% of the time I press the Not a Fan button. I have assumed this is something that is provided by Microsoft.

I was hoping to find a way of stopping these photos from appearing.  It may be that this cannot be done but I thought I would ask the Rootschat community.

Hopefully someone can tell me, in simple terms, how to get rid of these photos before I log into Windows.  All help gratefully received.  Thank you.  :D

I've only had that screen pop up once. Do you have Bing wallpaper? If so, it is probably connected to this.

So looking further this is how you stop the "Like what you see?" in Windows 10:

- Once you are logged in, right-click anywhere on the desktop and click "Personalize"
- Then click the option "Lock Screen" on the window that opens on the left
- Then under the word "Background" click on either Slideshow or a Picture
- De-select the option that says "Get fun facts, tips, tricks, and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen".

Manu - No idea if I have Bing wallpaper nor would I know where to look.

Trystan - I think what you are suggesting refers to the desktop images and not what I get before I sign in.

Yes that is what I see from your first link Trystan and that is what I wish to remove.  I have found something on Google about removing Bing wallpaper and will have a go.  This type of technology is not something I get on with very well  :-[

Are you talking about the "scenes from around the world" for want of a better term?  So when you switch on, you get a full-screen image of somewhere in the world, and then in top right-hand corner is a "Like what you see" and you can click on it to save it (I think) as a background to your screen!

Ignore it and it will disappear until the next one arrives.  I personally like to see where the image is from, but I don't accept it and it fades.  Apologies but I'm not quite sure what your problem is  :-X

ADDED:  Oops, I was referring to what Trystan stated in his earlier reply.

As I thought, being someone who has a limited knowledge of the workings of computers, I can't follow how to disable/disconnect the Bing wallpaper thing.

Unless there is some lovely Rootschatter who can guide me with simple steps, I shall have to ask for help from a computer whizz.

Thanks for the suggestions so far though.
