Trying to find anything about Edith Smith b 1884 Chobham, Surrey, Parents Silas Smith and Rhoda Baker did find a christening which i think is correct but fathers christian name not same,  could have been listed incorrectly,  ultimately I am trying to find if she married a John King,  Not having much luck.  Any help would be appreciated.   Sue

There is an 1891 entry for an Edith MA Smith born 1884 Battersea - father Silas AA Smith mother Isabel J.   Is that the same Edith?  Silas is shown as a traveller

Where did you get Rhoda Baker from as there is no marriage

What censuses do you have her on with parents?  If none - where did you get their names from?

Hi Carole,  Silas and Rhoda were my Hubbies Great Grandparents,  his Grandfather was William Smith b 08/01/1890 Bagshot, Surrey (Chertsey)  did find him living with a family of Kings in 1939 a John King and Edith King,  I think Edith would be his sister,  lots of Ancestry trees have John King and Edith Sharpe but believe its Edith Smith but need to verify and having trouble. They were Travellers.

The 1884 baptism for Edith at Holy Trinity Chobham has parents as Syke & Rhoda.

In 1870 Silas & Rhoda were living at Egham Common when son James was baptised at Longcross, by 1872 they were at Longcross Lane when daughter Mary Ann was baptised.

If it is the same couple they were in Frimley in 1878 when daughter Emily was baptised at Chilworth

1881 census they were at Gipsy Tents in Chobham RG11/771 f68 p28.  I suspect that the Baker & Smith families on the same page were related.  Silla Smith & Roda, both age 30
