Frances Morley & Percy Painter
« on: Tuesday 15 February 22 10:29 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find any information on Frances Morley & Percy Painter.

The only information/records I can find is:

Frances Morley married Percy Painter in 1923 at Lambeth, she died in 1929 and is buried in Morden, Surrey, it has her birth recorded as 1889.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Frances Taylor or Morley per the GRO marriage index.

I think you will need the marriage certificate to progress this.

That is the marriage certificate you need to purchase to find the name and occupation of the bride and groom's fathers.

Carole is referring to the two surnames indexed for the bride - TAYLOR and MORLEY.  Two indexed surnames often means the person was previously married and one is a maiden name, the other a married name.  It could also be an alias or 'also known as', you would have to see the marriage certificate to find out.

You really need the marriage certificate to ascertain Frances identity.   Presumably this is the couple that were witnesses to the marriage on your Frank Morley post.  :-\

Yes this is the couple who witnessed the marriage of Frank Morley.

I ordered the marriage certificate for Frances Taylor otherwise Morley and Percy Painter. Frances is a spinster age 37, father is Stephen Taylor so I have no idea why she is otherwise known as Morley. F J Morley is one of the witnesses of the marriage.
