How do I find Barrowmore hospital,  Barrow, Cheshire in 1939.
I don't have a  name unfortunately but there's a chance the person may be there.
Thanks.

I see it in what is now Barrow parish, but back in 1939 there may have been separate parishes for Great and Little Barrow. It was  almost definitely in Chester RDC. You may have to trawl a whole parish but these are small ones and this is likely the only institution.

It's always been Barrow parish.
Sorry.

If using FindMyPast I would suggest typing Great Barrow, Cheshire, England for the location and type institution in the household or institution box. This produces the results for Barrowmore Hall which appears to haver been a tuberculosis "colony" for East Lancashire. ( There are some 17 pages in the index for Barrowmore Hall).

Its RDC. LGEC. The person who I hoped to find isn't there.
LGEB is the County Mental Hospital which could be useful.
Thanks.
